Technology

Cone Beam technology provides a digital tomographic 3D view of the patient’s area of interest.  A traditional x-ray is only two-dimensional.  With Cone Beam systems the doctor is able to get a full 360 degree view of the tooth and all surrounding areas.  The 3D Cone Beam scanner provides nearly limitless views of the teeth while using less radiation than traditional medical CT technology. This new technology is fast, simple and painless, providing many wonderful benefits that were unavailable only a few years ago. Van Vliet Orthodontics uses the latest 3D Technology. i-CAT Flex provides the most defined imaging on the market today providing us with the ability to accurately measure your dental bite and TMJ condition.
Dolphin software is a powerful software tool that makes processing 3D data extremely accurate and predictable. It enables Dr. Van Vliet to diagnose, plan treatment, and present orthodontic cases. Dolphin 3D allows visualization and analysis of craniofacial anatomy from data produced by i-CAT imaging.
The Suresmile® system uses robotic technology and special metal alloys to change the way archwires are created, shaped, adjusted and utilized to maximize orthodontic treatment goals in a shorter time period than traditional hand-shaped archwires.
The use of the iTero scanner allows the doctor to take digital impressions of the patients teeth. Patients will have a comfortable, impression-free experience. Enjoy the benefits of a high-tech, chairside experience without the mess and gagging associated with traditional impressions. Using the scanner allows us to be more efficient and can reduce the number of visits to the office, saving you time.
AcceleDent® uses SoftPulse Technology ™ to help your current orthodontic treatment work faster. It does this by generating small vibrations called micropulses to gently accelerate the movement of your teeth as they are guided by your orthodontics. The micro pulses can also help to make your orthodontic experience more comfortable.
